About the Role

We are seeking our first designer to elevate the company's design standards. Axle operates with a highly autonomous, flat structure where many team members make design decisions daily. The goal is to amplify design impact, inspiring and supporting others to improve their design capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems in Claude and code to enable faster shipping of beautiful software.
  • Deepen the culture of user research and understand user experiences with Axle's products (B2C and B2B2C).
  • Lead visual identity efforts and explore new storytelling methods through web, animation, and video.

Requirements

  • Consider yourself on the 'engineery' side of design and enjoy end-to-end shipping.
  • Ability to distill technical domains for non-technical users.
  • Deep curiosity about the world and user experiences.
  • Interest in bringing sophisticated technology to broader audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize usability over aesthetics when necessary.

Salary/Compensations

  • £75k–£200k (base salary + equity)
