About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer to join our Machine Learning Platform team. You will collaborate with ML teams to accelerate and scale engineering activities, enabling the deployment of Perception, Prediction, and Planning models into our AD/ADAS stack for millions of Toyota vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize ML Platform systems and tools for perception, prediction, and planner development.
• Enable ML engineers to efficiently iterate on dataset curation, modeling, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Develop user-friendly frameworks and libraries to support ML engineering efforts.
• Build and maintain efficient dataset generation, cloud training, and evaluation pipelines.
• Develop and review code to facilitate rapid incremental improvements.
• Optimize processes, tooling, and infrastructure to accelerate ML engineering.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for systems and products.
• Work in a high-velocity environment using agile development practices.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or related quantitative fields, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• 2+ years of experience with UNIX-based systems, Python, and PyTorch or Tensorflow.
• 2+ years of experience in the full MLOps cycle including data curation, distributed training, evaluation, and inference optimization.
• Experience with Docker and CI systems such as GitHub Actions.
• Business-level proficiency in English with the ability to write technical documentation.
• Ability to work in the Nihonbashi, Japan office three days per week.
