About the Role
Transgrid is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join the Commercial Finance team. This role will partner with Network Portfolio, Commercial, and Innovation teams to provide commercial, financial, and regulatory insights supporting strategic decision-making. You will influence investment decisions, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory submissions, and commercial arrangements, ensuring financial governance and control. The role aims to drive financial performance, improve cost recoverability, and align commercial, regulatory, and accounting outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Network Portfolio, Commercial and Innovation teams.
- Provide commercial, financial and regulatory insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Influence investment decisions, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory submissions and commercial arrangements.
- Ensure strong financial governance and control.
- Drive financial performance.
- Improve cost recoverability.
- Ensure alignment between commercial, regulatory and accounting outcomes.
Requirements
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA or CIMA accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience in a Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance role within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong financial and management accounting expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and provide commercially focused advice across the business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate clear, actionable insights.
- Experience driving business performance, continuous improvement and sound financial governance.
- Knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls and regulatory frameworks.
- Exposure to regulated industries (such as energy or utilities) is highly regarded.
- Experience working within infrastructure, utilities or other capital-intensive environments.
- Proficiency using enterprise financial systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
