About the Role
You will own and grow a strategic book of commercial insurance accounts, serving as a senior advisor to executive stakeholders at venture-backed companies. This role requires managing complex coverage, driving retention and expansion, and operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a strategic book of commercial insurance accounts exceeding $1M in revenue.
- Lead end-to-end renewal strategy, including risk advisory and coverage gap analysis.
- Drive client retention and revenue expansion through cross-selling and proactive risk management.
- Manage complex coverage conversations for Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, GL, Professional Liability, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Partner with the Placements team to provide client context and risk narratives for market submissions.
- Support new business by engaging in late-stage sales conversations and ensuring smooth client handoffs.
- Operate independently to manage competing priorities and complex client situations.
- Mentor team members and contribute to onboarding and training initiatives.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve coverage accuracy, renewal efficiency, and communication.
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial insurance brokerage experience.
- Demonstrated track record of independently managing a complex P&C book.
- Deep coverage knowledge across General Liability, Management Liability, Cyber/Tech E&O, and Professional Liability.
- Active P&C License.
- Experience managing high-touch client relationships at Series A–C companies.
- Proven ability to navigate funding-stage triggers and board-level dynamics.
- Strong track record of account retention and growth.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for non-expert audiences.

- San Francisco & New York: $150,000 – $180,000 per year + 20% variable annual bonus
- Chicago: $140,000 – $165,000 per year + 20% variable annual bonus
