About the Role

The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to patients in their homes. This position involves an evening shift and offers a competitive hourly wage. Accendra Health aims to make healthcare easier by delivering care beyond traditional settings and making essential products and services more accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls, packs, delivers, and picks up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
  • Instructs patients on the basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other approved equipment/services.
  • Loads and unloads durable medical and infusion equipment onto the delivery vehicle.
  • Responds to emergency delivery calls during business hours and on an on-call basis.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Distributes paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains the supply component of patient profiles.
  • Notifies supervisor of specific issues discovered in the patient's home, such as physical abuse, unsafe home environments, or unsanitary conditions due to animals.
  • Cleans and assists with equipment repair.
  • Performs routine vehicle maintenance, including checking fluids, tire pressure, and brakes.
  • Reports vehicle malfunctions to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years of driving history required.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
  • Must meet job-related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and standards of accrediting bodies.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal).
