About the Role
Langan is seeking a Senior Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to lead and support business development, engineering design, and permitting efforts for land development projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, permitting, and execution of residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for public and private clients.
- Collaborate with office and regional leadership to develop strategic growth plans and optimize staff utilization.
- Contribute to business development efforts by cultivating new client relationships and strengthening partnerships with existing clients.
- Oversee site/civil engineering efforts from concept through completion, including site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP preparation.
- Contribute to technical and proposal writing with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment.
- Apply integrated knowledge of land development engineering, including coordination with geotechnical and environmental disciplines.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Possess a valid Professional Engineer license in California.
- 16+ years of successful, local and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects.
- Proven success in client development, client management, and project delivery abilities.
- Active participation in professional organizations.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to mentor project and staff engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
