About the Role

Langan is seeking a Senior Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to lead and support business development, engineering design, and permitting efforts for land development projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, permitting, and execution of residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for public and private clients.
  • Collaborate with office and regional leadership to develop strategic growth plans and optimize staff utilization.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by cultivating new client relationships and strengthening partnerships with existing clients.
  • Oversee site/civil engineering efforts from concept through completion, including site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and SWPPP preparation.
  • Contribute to technical and proposal writing with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment.
  • Apply integrated knowledge of land development engineering, including coordination with geotechnical and environmental disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • Possess a valid Professional Engineer license in California.
  • 16+ years of successful, local and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects.
  • Proven success in client development, client management, and project delivery abilities.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to mentor project and staff engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
