About the Role
The E+ Quality Assurance Manager will lead first-line quality assurance and management assurance activities for Erasmus+ programme operations by consistently applying agreed assurance frameworks, methodologies, and standards. This role involves owning defined assurance workstreams, leading quality reviews, sampling approaches, and performance analysis to ensure risk-based, well-evidenced assurance activity that produces clear, actionable insight.
Responsibilities
- Lead quality assurance activities and provide evidence-based assurance that programme delivery processes operate effectively and in line with agreed standards.
- Apply and interpret assurance frameworks, methodologies, and quality standards to support consistent and robust operational decision-making.
- Plan and deliver risk-based quality reviews, sampling exercises, and assurance checks across programme activities.
- Produce high-quality assurance documentation, maintain clear audit trails, and track the implementation of agreed actions.
- Analyse quality and performance data to identify trends, risks, control weaknesses, areas of good practice, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide structured insight and recommendations to support programme assurance, governance reporting, and senior decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing process enhancements, embedding lessons learned, and promoting consistency across delivery teams.
- Support governance, risk, compliance, and audit activities by identifying, assessing, mitigating, and escalating risks where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, providing practical guidance on quality standards, programme requirements, and assurance expectations.
- Lead assurance workstreams and contribute to capability building, systems improvements, and the effective use of programme tools, data, and processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in programme delivery, quality assurance, or operations.
- Experience leading or delivering assurance, review, or quality activities.
- Experience analysing performance data and identifying trends or risks.
- Experience contributing to process improvements.
- Experience working with governance, audit, or compliance processes.
- Experience in grant-funded or public sector programmes (desirable).
- Experience working in regulated or audit-heavy environments (desirable).
- Experience supporting audit and assurance processes (desirable).
- Experience with systems supporting programme delivery (desirable).
- Current right to work in the UK.
- The British Council is not able to support or sponsor work visa applications.

Salary/Compensations
- £30,839 gross per annum plus £3,300 per annum London Market Allowance
