About the Role
NTT DATA is seeking a Lead Generative AI Engineer to drive AI transformation initiatives for top Australian organizations. This role involves the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Generative AI solutions in multi-cloud environments, requiring expertise in LLMs and engineering leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of GenAI-based solutions, driving architectural design, hands-on coding, and production deployment.
- Architect and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, manage vector databases, and implement sophisticated prompt optimization techniques.
- Implement industry best practices for APIs, microservices, and secure backend components to seamlessly integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems.
- Design, evaluate, and systematically tune system and user prompts to optimize for accuracy, minimize latency, and enforce safety guardrails.
- Establish model versioning, continuous testing, and real-time monitoring workflows to track model performance and mitigate data drift.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting, system optimization, and technical guidance to team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing scalable software solutions, with mastery of Python.
- At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams or complex engineering projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of LangChain/ADK, Prompt Engineering, and model evaluation methodologies.
- Proven hands-on experience navigating cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with next-generation coding environments (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf), automated unit testing, rigorous coding standards review, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML, specialized cloud platforms, or advanced software technologies are highly preferred.
