About the Role
This is a hands-on specialist role for an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Engineer to own the ITOM and CMDB capability, improving its reliability and usage. The role involves designing, configuring, and troubleshooting ITOM in complex, cloud-heavy environments, directly influencing data quality, operational visibility, and technology resilience.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support ServiceNow ITOM modules including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.
- Own CMDB data quality, accuracy, and governance, ensuring it becomes a trusted source of truth.
- Diagnose and resolve discovery, integration, and data issues.
- Configure and manage MID Servers, integrations, workflows, and automation.
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to onboard services and improve dependency visibility.
- Drive continuous improvement of ITOM capability, performance, and coverage.
- Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to platform standards and best practice.
Requirements
- Strong experience working in the ServiceNow platform, with a clear focus on ITOM.
- Practical experience across CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
- A background in infrastructure and cloud environments (Windows, Linux, networking, AWS/GCP or similar).
- Experience with JavaScript, REST APIs, MID Servers, and integrations.
- A troubleshooting mindset, comfortable working through incomplete or unreliable data.
- Confidence engaging and influencing technical stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently and own a specialist capability.
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning a specialist space.
- Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia.
- Must undertake police and basic credit checks as a condition of employment.
