About the Role
PayPal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications. This role involves architecting new API endpoints, optimizing performance-sensitive systems serving millions of requests, and driving architecture discussions to support PayPal’s global payments infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software applications.
- Architect and implement new API endpoints to support software features.
- Build and optimize features for performance-sensitive systems.
- Program and code applications using Ruby, C++, and Java.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability through architecture evolution, refactoring, and improved build/test systems.
- Test applications, identify defects, and document risks for senior management.
- Drive architecture discussions and produce design documentation.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Apply machine-learning algorithmic techniques and design patterns.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
