Responsibilities
- Room patients, take and document vital signs, and prepare patients for the provider.
- Ensure completion of paperwork for new-patient intake and established-patient follow-up.
- Review provider refill in-baskets and assist with medication requests.
- Review EMR system triage in-baskets.
- Review result notes and inform patients of normal lab results.
- Coordinate pharmacogenomic testing.
- Plan, organize, and direct Pediatric Behavioral Health Department clinic and administrative support functions.
- Coordinate and streamline processes for the Behavioral Health department.
- Contact patients overdue for follow-up to assist with scheduling and address barriers.
- Follow up with at-risk patients to maintain connection to care.
- Coordinate and manage provider schedules.
- Connect patients to community resources.
- Coordinate care with other care team members.
- Ensure rooms are stocked and supplies are current.
- Administer medication under physician direction within scope of practice.
- Perform diagnostic testing including EKGs, audiograms, tympanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings.
- Post patient test results through MyChart.
- Clean patient rooms and handle dirty linens.
- Assist providers with procedures, including equipment setup, patient preparation, and documentation.
- Maintain equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers.
- Answer incoming calls to triage and determine acuity.
- Utilize smart phrases for phone messages and routing.
- Train new employees.
- Assist in scheduling staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant experience, or CNA/EMT/PCT experience providing direct patient care including manual vitals and medication/injection administration, or graduation from a medical assistant program.
- Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Experience Level
- Six months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Experience working in a behavioral health practice preferred
