About the Role
Interac connects Canadians through secure digital payments, advanced identity verification, and industry-leading fraud protection. This role will lead and maintain the organization's financial systems, including JDE, ReportsNow, and Concur expense management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the financial systems of the organization including JDE, ReportsNow, and Concur expense management.
- Be responsible for system upgrades, financial systems IT audit support, and implementing new automation tools.
- Be responsible for Financial Reporting, including creating and maintaining reports for external reporting, government reporting, financial applications, audit schedules, and quarterly financials.
- Assist with monthly financial accounting, including preparation of accrual entries and validation of financial information.
- Be heavily involved with all projects that touch the enterprise accounting software.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as required.
Requirements
- Troubleshoot issues with any of the financial systems.
- Evaluate new systems to enhance efficiencies.
- Evaluate when implementation of new systems should take place.
- Document changes and steps when rolling out new features or automation tools.
- Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP (in particular, ASPE and IFRS).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
- A business degree with a major in accounting, finance and/or CPA (or working towards).
- Financial systems experience in a supportive or leadership role (e.g., system implementations/enhancements).
- JD Edwards, ReportsNow, and Concur Expense experience is an asset.
- Proficient level of Excel skills (financial modeling would be a great asset).
- Understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS).
- Strong time management skills, multi-tasking, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate and influence senior management, including executives, at their level.
- Ability to work well with people within and outside the company.
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete background checks, which may include Canadian Criminal Credit Check, Canadian ID Cross-Check, Public Safety Verification, 5-year Employment Verification, Education Verification, Credit Check, and Social Media Check.
