About the Role

Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for an Applications Software Engineer in our National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Our talented team is at the forefront in Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods and Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management. Responsibilities

  • Work on a mix of web service development, full stack web application development, and robust persistence layer implementations in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Utilize Themes, Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria as part of an Agile team.
  • Apply software engineering best practices and clean coding techniques to ensure code is maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure, fault tolerant, and meets S.O.L.I.D coding principles.
  • Apply secure software development principles and techniques.
  • Use software tools in cooperation with continuous integration and test automation management processes.
  • Understand software components and their interface requirements.
  • Interface with software engineers, system engineers, information assurance engineers, test engineers, quality assurance, and other project team members.
  • Set standards and help the team adopt and adhere to Test Driven Development (TDD) practices within the Leidos Agile Framework.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant experience (experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience with web-based (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) in a web-based environment.
  • Experience in Scrum Methodology or other Agile environments (e.g., SAFe, XP).
  • Experience with UI / Development Frameworks (E.g, AngularJS, Ionic, GWT, SmartGWT, Qt, React, Node.js).
  • Experience with Automated Testing Tools/Technologies/Concepts (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin, BDD).
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • DoD 8570 approved security certification (i.e., Security +) (Will be required 90 days after hire).
