About the Role
As a Personal Trainer, you will build a robust client base by providing fitness guidance and establishing connections with clients. You will also serve as a floor monitor, ensuring a safe workout environment, conducting equipment orientations, and fostering a community atmosphere. This role offers an hourly rate of $15 when not actively engaged with clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct personal training sessions with members as scheduled.
- Encourage members to learn and understand the benefits of exercise and weight training and provide information about other available programs offered through the YMCA.
- Lead individual or group activities as designated by the Health & Wellness Director.
- Understand and carry out the YMCA Fitness Program objectives.
- Ensure equipment is clean and ready to use for the next session.
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
- Lead by example the Y's mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
- Become an Ambassador of the Y's work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Part-time availability with a flexible schedule.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, and occasionally lift and/or move items, including equipment, furniture, and/or children.
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
- Strong communicator, able to listen for understanding and meaning, and speak and write effectively.
- Ability to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging by leveraging people's differences as strengths.
