About the Role

Perkins&Will's New York City Studio is seeking accomplished Senior Project Managers with 10-15+ years of experience in leading healthcare projects. The role involves steering the full spectrum of the design process from concept development to implementation, guiding clients and teams toward innovative, human-centric, and impactful design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise, adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence.
  • Manage all aspects of projects to ensure efficient execution within scope and budget.
  • Manage project teams, foster collaboration, and demonstrate strong communication to inspire high team performance and successful project delivery.
  • Lead efforts in developing and validating project scope, fee, budget, and services during the marketing and contract development process.
  • Ensure complete and timely communication of project information to and from clients and project teams.
  • Manage projects using the Deltek Project Management system, including work plans, team members, budget, consultants, schedules, fees, costs, and change notices.
  • Work with Project Architects to avoid or eliminate schedule conflicts due to project changes.
  • Provide ongoing communication through team meetings, minutes, and memos.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, contractors, sub-consultants, and other disciplines for effective communication.
  • Monitor construction administration during the construction phase.
  • Understand and respond to technical implications and design decisions.
  • Participate in marketing opportunities and develop successful client relationships for continuing business.
  • Control risk management by monitoring client and technical issues promptly to minimize liability.
  • Review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and document compliance according to the Project Delivery Manual.
  • Coordinate staffing resources with the Operations Director.
  • Mentor staff.

Requirements

  • Hold an active architectural license in the United States or Interior Design license/certification (NCIDQ).
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related discipline required.
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire.
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design (LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future Accreditation).
