Responsibilities
- Conduct hotline interviews and present to Administration for approval
- Provide a warm, compassionate welcome to new residents
- Complete admissions paperwork
- Provide initial program orientation
- Conduct recreational activities and accompany residents on field trips
- Assist in special on-site events
- Provide childcare and engage with residents
- Escort residents to external services such as clinics, income maintenance centers, and housing referrals
- Provide administrative support including office coverage, telephone, and clerical work
- Distribute donations and supplies to residents
- Conduct room checks
- Perform light maintenance and housekeeping
- Provide security coverage including building rounds and key distribution
- Maintain visitor logs and record unusual incidents
- Function independently during facility coverage and manage crisis situations
- Provide shift summaries
- Attend individual and group supervision meetings
- Participate in staff meetings and training seminars
- Conduct support groups
- Conduct scheduled rounds to ensure safety and therapeutic availability
- Update resident and staff log books daily
- Monitor room availability and conduct outreach
- Collaborate with assigned case managers
- Maintain progress notes documenting resident assistance
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree with internships in Human Services, or Associate Degree with 2-4 years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 4-5 years of experience
- Experience or potential for delivering human services to adults and children, preferably in a residential setting
- Sensitivity and knowledge regarding domestic violence within disenfranchised communities
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
