About the Role

We are seeking a Bartender to join our team at TRU by Hilton in Austin, TX. This role involves preparing beverages, serving guests, managing inventory, and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar.
• Promote house drinks and food items.
• Utilize upselling skills whenever possible to maximize revenues.
• Prepare beverages requested by customers or servers according to standard operating procedures.
• Work shifts in the restaurant as a server.
• Use POS (Point of Sales) system machine accurately.
• Collect money and make change.
• Stock bar and beer cooler area as required.
• Keep bar and beer cooler area neat and orderly, including standard sanitation practices and washing glasses behind the bar.
• Recognize intoxicated guests and act accordingly.
• Serve food to customers around the bar.
• Keep liquor at par levels, ordering or requisitioning products using the bottle-for-bottle control system.
• Complete nightly liquor lists.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain continuity of guest satisfaction through constant communication with the wait staff.
• Prepare fruit for garnishing drinks.
• Monitor guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease.
• Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers.
• Check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
• Follow state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
