About the Role
The Kitchen Staff member is responsible for preparing high-quality food according to established menu specifications to deliver an excellent guest experience. Must be able to multitask, work efficiently in a dynamic kitchen environment, and follow instructions precisely to prepare delicious dishes. The ideal candidate has previous experience as a cook in a fast-paced restaurant.
Responsibilities
- Season and prepare foods according to customer specifications and established recipes.
- Prepare the plating line and assist with dish presentation.
- Present food in an attractive and professional manner.
- Control portions and presentation of side dishes.
- Regulate temperature of grills, broilers, and ovens.
- Wash, cut, and prepare meats and vegetables before cooking.
- Taste and evaluate foods before serving.
- Rotate and label foods to ensure freshness and maintain quality standards.
- Discard expired or soon-to-be-expired food.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment after each use.
- Cook foods to established temperatures before serving.
- Prepare all food products according to established methods.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is recommended.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to memorize complex orders or multiple orders.
- Proficiency in spoken English and ability to write basic English.
- Food Handler Card.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
