About the Role

The Prevention Education Specialist delivers parent and caregiver workshops, professional trainings, and trauma-informed educational programming across Travis County. This role focuses on child abuse identification, prevention, and trauma awareness, while cultivating community partnerships to advance the Center's mission of child safety.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct educational workshops and trainings for diverse audiences on child abuse prevention, identification, and reporting
  • Represent the Center at community events and conduct facility tours for stakeholders
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, schools, and childcare centers
  • Develop and update educational materials for outreach and training
  • Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary trainings for staff and Child Protection Team members
  • Support strategic planning by reviewing program effectiveness and identifying service gaps
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance and evaluation data
  • Provide direct service support for forensic, therapy, and medical cases as needed
  • Participate in continuing education and stay current on child welfare research and legislation

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed
  • Strong knowledge of child abuse and neglect, reporting requirements, and intervention systems
  • Understanding of child abuse prevention, trauma, and child development

Salary/Compensations

  • $61,000.00 - $65,000.00
