About the Role
This role provides unique opportunities to learn and be exposed to more than 40 segments of the ABS market, gaining expertise in computational and automation-based processes. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining ratings and taking rating actions on ABS securitized assets. The analyst selected will become an expert in surveilling a diverse portfolio of ABS sectors, formulating memos with cogent rationale for proposed ratings, and presenting findings to the Rating Committee.
Responsibilities
- Analyze credit risk in ABS through collateral/loss analysis, transaction modeling, and legal documentation review.
- Manage the surveillance of an assigned portfolio of credits.
- Prepare materials for rating committee review.
- Present analytical conclusions and recommendations to rating committee members.
- Collaborate with the cash flow modeling team to run stress scenarios for rating analysis.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior analysts.
- Contribute to the development and publication of topical research.
- Coordinate with other teams to support credit rating analysis, research, and administration.
- Interact with team members to learn department techniques and automation.
- Utilize original thinking to extend in-place automation.
- Assist the team in building various databases and analytical tools.
Requirements
- Completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, accounting, economics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in Structured Finance, preferably with an ABS background.
- Excellent quantitative and writing skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Curiosity and the capability to turn intuition into usable tools to advance departmental efficiency.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and deliver largely error-free conclusions.
