About the Role

Responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. This role involves direct customer communication, training other installers, and assisting management with site supervision and work planning.

Responsibilities

• Install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories per company and manufacturer specifications
• Perform limited diagnostics as needed
• Design, fabricate, and install ducts and duct fittings
• Perform system start-ups
• Deliver excellent customer service and promote products and services
• Generate and report replacement product sales leads
• Manage delivery and removal of installation equipment
• Maintain company property, vehicles, and tools
• Complete accurate and timely paperwork and collect customer payments
• Maintain a clean and organized installation vehicle
• Assist management with site supervision, planning, estimating, and quality audits
• Train other installers in technical skills and procedures
• Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards immediately
• Use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Participate in safety initiatives and committees

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC
• Valid HVAC technical training certification
• Valid federal, state, provincial, or local licensing/certifications
• EPA certification
• Safety certifications
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions including hot, cold, indoor, outdoor, and congested areas
• Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity ladders with a 30lb tool belt
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds

Skills

• Operational knowledge of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment
• Advanced installation skills for HVAC equipment and accessories
• Proficiency in duct work layout and installation
• Advanced mechanical aptitude
• Ability to operate all necessary installation tools and equipment
• Advanced wiring diagram reading and troubleshooting
• System start-up and airflow balancing
• Installation of electronic air cleaners, refrigeration, hot water, steam boiler, and humidifier systems
• Heat gain and loss calculation
• Effective communication and customer conflict resolution
• Time-management and organizational skills
