About the Role

As a Senior Software Integration Engineer, you will own the integration across the full software stack, from firmware on embedded devices to higher-level software for telemetry and command, and autonomy and GNC layers. You will ensure software is continuously tested and releasable, drive issue resolution, and shape the long-term testing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first responder for software integration issues, triaging, reproducing, determining root cause, proposing solutions, and driving issues to resolution.
  • Maintain situational awareness across subsystems to quickly identify problem areas and responsible parties.
  • Verify correct end-to-end behavior across the software stack, examining the integrated system to confirm it meets requirements.
  • Serve as the feedback conduit between the Core team and dependent teams, validating data and behavior, and channeling findings back to product teams.
  • Develop automated system integration tooling and strategies for PIL and HIL testing.
  • Invest in observability (dashboards, alerts) to surface system health and detect problems early.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous building, testing, and exercising of software systems.
  • Manage and execute software releases to various test rigs, defining and enforcing release criteria, versioning, and configuration control.
  • Ensure robust and tested mechanisms for Over-The-Air (OTA) software/firmware updates, including backward compatibility.
  • Capture institutional knowledge through clear procedures, triage documents, and verification data.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years on embedded, real-time, or deployed mission-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in Rust, or strong systems-programming experience (C/C++) with ability to learn Rust quickly.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for test automation and tooling.
  • Experience building or operating PIL and HIL test setups, deploying software, and automating test procedures.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience across the embedded-to-application boundary (bare-metal or RTOS firmware communicating with embedded Linux).
  • Experience across the networking layer, including debugging IP stack communication.
  • Hardware debugging skills with tools like bus monitors, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with software release management, versioning, and configuration control.
  • Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot across software/firmware/hardware boundaries under time pressure.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, ability to coordinate and build relationships, and organized work habits.
