About the Role
Waltham Forest Shared Lives Scheme is recruiting compassionate and committed individuals to become Shared Lives carers, offering meaningful support to adults aged 18 and over with diverse care and support needs.
Responsibilities
- Share your home, family, and community life.
- Provide care and support to adults with assessed needs to be as independent as possible in a family environment.
- Offer weekend or short-term respite care.
- Provide longer-term live-in support.
- Decide what level of needs you can support.
Requirements
- Must have a spare bedroom (owned or rented) to accommodate an individual.
- Must live in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
- Will undergo an assessment process including background checks, interviews, training, and home visits.
- Will be self-employed and responsible for own Tax self-assessment and National Insurance contributions.
