Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection.
- Respond to customer concerns quickly and with a sense of importance.
- Provide outstanding customer service to assist patrons in selecting goods or substitute items.
- Oversee the overall operations of the sales department.
- Order merchandise, receive stock, price items, and monitor inventory levels.
- Implement price changes, markdowns, promotional sets, and signage in conjunction with store management.
- Communicate with HQ staff to resolve special order requests or merchandise issues.
- Assist the store management team in training employees on cash register and front-end duties.
- Provide input on employee evaluations.
- Operate a cash register, accepting various payment methods.
- Prepare, verify, and issue change funds.
- Collect cash receipts, register tapes, credit card receipts, and supporting documentation.
- Compare register tapes with the Daily Activity Report and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain daily cash overage and shortage records for each sales cashier.
- Ensure the control and security of change funds, the safe, and cash registers.
- Act as a key carrier, opening and closing the store as required.
- Direct and supervise other employees and assume responsibility for store operations in the absence of management.
- Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention, shrink awareness, and the Alert Line.
- Adhere to all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Work with open availability, including weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must have open availability, to include weekends.
- Must satisfactorily complete a Federal Background check and all pre-employment requirements.
- Applicants may not be employed in the chain of command of their relatives.
- Residency Requirements: Non-U.S. nationals must have resided within the United States, or U.S. territories, for at least three of the last five years.
- Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Males born after 12/31/59 and at least 18 years of age must be registered with the Selective Service System, unless exempt.
- Must provide a written statement regarding Selective Service registration status if applicable.
- May be required to meet specific job-related qualifications or certifications as a condition of employment.

Experience Level
- Minimum: Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
- Preferred: Previous retail supervisory experience.
- Preferred: Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.
