About the Role
The Teacher Assistant supports a learning environment based on the Creative Curriculum approach, aiding children's physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and creative development. This role ensures compliance with procedural norms, attendance standards, and daycare regulations, contributing to a warm and welcoming center environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a learning environment that helps children develop physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and creatively.
- Support the implementation of activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development of children.
- Maintain program compliance with oversight agencies (DOE, DOHMH) and CHLDC-UCC policies.
- Share job-related knowledge with team members to promote professional growth.
- Participate in staff meetings, classroom development workshops, and trainings.
- Engage in center-related services and activities such as celebrations, performances, and family events.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/families through open communication and developmental activities.
- Adhere to Agency (UCDCC) policies and procedures, seeking guidance from the Educational Director.
- Strictly adhere to and enforce the Agency policy regarding Confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Demonstrate commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Availability to work 3:15pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
- Must be at least eighteen years old.
- Must clear DOE and DOHMH fingerprinting and background authorizations.
- Daily access to reliable transportation to Brooklyn, NY.
- To work with children under 3 years old, must be at least 21 years old and meet specific educational and experience criteria.
- Three typed reference letters will be required if chosen for the position.

- $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly
