About the Role
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team and ensure the smooth handling of cargo.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, sorting, and dispatching of cargo.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with team members to meet deadlines and operational goals.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper documentation of cargo movements.
- Monitor and maintain the functionality of warehouse equipment and infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless cargo handling and delivery.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare operational reports and updates for management.
- Promote a positive and productive work environment by recognizing team contributions.
- Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and others.
- Cooperate with management to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences.
- Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided.
- Fully understand AGI’s Health, Safety, and Security policies.
- Attend training courses as required by AGI.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse operations.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States.
- If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada.
Skills
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and related tools.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
