About the Role

As a Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will lead and manage neutral, timely, and thorough investigations to ensure a respectful and safe workplace. You will act as a trusted advisor to leadership and the People Team, using your expertise in investigations, legal guidelines, and HR best practices. Your work will directly support our commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive culture for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Help to further build out our investigation function at Adyen.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of internal investigations under the direction of NA Employment Counsel.
  • Conduct intakes and interviews.
  • Collect and weigh evidence.
  • Conduct forensic evidence searches.
  • Make credibility determinations.
  • Reach factual findings according to the relevant evidentiary standard.
  • Analyze factual findings against internal policies.
  • Determine whether policies have been violated.
  • Debrief internal stakeholders and leadership regarding investigation conclusions.
  • Ensure thorough case documentation and record keeping.
  • Develop key Employee Relations and Employment Legal projects, such as improving investigation processes and implementing new ER-focused technologies.
  • Review and recommend existing policy updates.
  • Conduct occasional legal research regarding employment legal issues.
  • Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on topics like respectful workplace conduct, ethical behavior, and effective complaint resolution.
  • Coach HR Business Partners on employee relations matters and best practices.
  • Analyze data with an eye towards prevention, identifying trends, and recommending initiatives.

Requirements

  • You have 10+ years of experience in an Employee Relations or Employment Legal role with a primary focus on conducting workplace investigations.
  • You have deep knowledge of employment law and regulations across North America.
  • You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Experience in a global or high-growth tech company is strongly preferred.
  • Employment Legal practice experience is strongly preferred.
  • A law license in at least one US state is strongly preferred.
  • AWI-CH certification is strongly preferred.
