About the Role
Hire-Ability is an award-winning vocational services program that connects employers with trained, assessed, and pre-qualified employees. The program provides quality and culturally competent vocational rehabilitation, training, and support services to adults with behavioral health conditions and/or mental health disabilities. This role is open only to consumers/participants of the SF DPH - Community Behavioral Health Services.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic janitorial duties as assigned.
- Utilizes safe work procedures and proper janitorial and protective equipment.
- Manages assigned janitorial equipment and supplies.
- Reports facility problems to the Site Supervisor or Program Supervisor.
- Performs physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Uses hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, moving materials and equipment, and manipulating objects.
- Completes projects under tight deadlines and adapts to changes in assignments.
- Proactively identifies tasks and facility-related needs.
- Wears the proper janitorial uniform and models professional standards.
- Communicates promptly and shares information effectively.
- Performs work in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintains and submits accurate records, timesheets, and documentation.
- Participates in staff meetings, trainings, committees, and staff development activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of janitorial experience or successful completion of a janitorial training program.
- Ability to follow directions, prioritize, multitask, and complete duties with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Ability to physically lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
- Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to continuously support part of the body.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
