About the Role

Safely adjust and operate machines in the turning center at a manufacturing facility. Set up and load bar stock into the machine and run quality checks at various intervals on a Swiss Machine. This is a 2nd Shift Position plus overtime. Training will be completed on day shift.

Responsibilities

  • Safely adjust and operate machines in the turning center.
  • Set up and load bar stock into the machine.
  • Run quality checks at various intervals on a Swiss Machine.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate and work with people in office, factory, and inspection as required.
  • Maintain correct tolerances and quality specifications.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with G-code.
  • Must be familiar with basic feed/speed rates and cutting tools.
  • Must have Windows PC experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to make decisions with intelligence, intuition, common sense.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good basic math skills.
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and various measuring tools including calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in adapting setups.
  • Must be safety oriented.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Must wear safety glasses.
