About the Role

As an Engineering Technician, you will work closely with engineers and senior metallurgists to ensure high-quality, timely results for clients in aerospace, medical, automotive, and energy industries. This role involves hands-on testing, data collection, and technical support for metallurgical evaluations, including failure analysis and material characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality metallurgical testing evaluations demonstrating proficiency in utilization of a variety of techniques.
  • Coordinate the input of other departments for overall testing and evaluation and IMR report requirements.
  • Write metallurgical evaluation reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicate results, answer questions and provide service to ensure positive customer relationships.
  • Perform all work in accordance with safe and proper procedures.
  • Interface with customers as necessary to assure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Conduct or assist in conducting customer tours, visits and audits.
  • Exhibit & maintain a high level of metallurgical skills and knowledge of material science.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field and serve as a technical resource to the lab.
  • Maintain professional visibility through involvement in professional societies and publication in technical journals.
  • Assist in writing procedures, training less experienced employees, and maintaining equipment and overall appearance of the lab.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a materials testing or engineering lab environment.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical testing techniques and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently or in a team.
  • This position may require exposure to export-controlled information and subject to additional security screening.
