About the Role
This 12-month fixed-term contract role focuses on enhancing marketing team effectiveness through the adoption of AI, behavioral science, and smarter working methods. The Marketing Transformation Manager will identify opportunities for AI, automation, and marketing technology to improve campaign performance, reduce effort, and increase capacity for high-value activities. The role also involves embedding behavioral science principles into campaign planning and execution to improve customer engagement and outcomes. Success relies on influencing, building credibility, and driving adoption within a highly visible team.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and marketing technology to reduce manual effort, improve productivity, and create capacity for teams to focus on higher-value activity.
- Build and deliver AI tools to the marketing team.
- Evaluate, test, and implement new tools and capabilities to solve business problems and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Measure and track the impact of transformation activity, including resource savings, cost efficiencies, adoption rates, and improvements in marketing performance.
- Bring forward ideas and recommendations that help marketing teams work smarter and deliver greater value.
- Work closely with campaign managers and marketing teams to embed behavioral science principles into marketing activity, helping improve customer engagement and campaign performance.
- Influence stakeholders across marketing to adopt new approaches, building understanding, confidence, and commitment to change.
- Act as a trusted partner to teams, helping them understand the value of new tools, methodologies, and ways of working.
- Ensure transformation initiatives become embedded in day-to-day activity and deliver lasting behavioral change.
- Help deliver the marketing transformation roadmap, ensuring initiatives drive measurable improvements in marketing effectiveness, efficiency, and ways of working.
- Collaborate with colleagues across marketing, data, technology, and insight functions to ensure transformation initiatives are aligned and deliver meaningful business value.
- Navigate dependencies, challenges, and competing priorities to keep initiatives moving forward and maintain momentum.
Requirements
- Experience in marketing technology, marketing operations, digital transformation, or a similar role focused on improving marketing effectiveness.
- Understanding of how marketing teams use technology and experience implementing, embedding, or optimizing tools and platforms that support marketing delivery.
- Experience working with AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, or emerging technologies, and understanding how to apply them practically to deliver business value.
- Understanding the connection between marketing technology, customer data, insight, customer experience, and commercial performance.
- Strong track record of influencing stakeholders and driving adoption, particularly where success depends on changing behaviors rather than simply implementing technology.
- Comfortable working with Campaign managers, and Marketing, Retail and Commercial stakeholders, helping them embrace new approaches and realise the benefits of change.
- Experience introducing new methodologies, frameworks, or capabilities into established teams and ensuring they become part of day-to-day ways of working.
- Confident challenging existing approaches constructively and helping stakeholders see the value of doing things differently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Practical, outcome-focused mindset motivated by delivering measurable results.
- Resilient, patient, and comfortable operating in environments where influencing, persuasion, and relationship-building are critical to success.
- Comfortable taking ownership, working independently, and navigating ambiguity to move initiatives forward.
- Experience applying behavioral science principles within marketing is highly beneficial.
- Passion for developing expertise in behavioral science is also valued.
