About the Role

As a Staff Tax Accountant at SMG ABA LLC, you will prepare a wide range of tax returns, conduct tax planning and research, collaborate with clients, and stay updated on tax law changes. You will also assist in resolving tax issues and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Conduct tax planning and research to identify tax savings opportunities and minimize client tax liabilities.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information, address inquiries, and provide exceptional service.
• Stay updated on tax law and regulation changes to ensure compliance and incorporate updates into strategies.
• Assist in resolving tax-related issues and inquiries from tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of tax processes and procedures for enhanced efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior team members.
• Participate in SMG ABA team-building and firm events.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Intermediate knowledge of tax rules and regulations.
• Proficient in tax software and accounting systems.
• Proficient with technology tools used in tax preparation and research.
• Ability to navigate complex tax scenarios and provide innovative solutions.
• Ability to effectively communicate tax concepts to clients and colleagues.
• Dedicated to delivering exceptional service and developing long-term client relationships.
• Ensures accuracy and timely completion of tax deliverables.
