About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Manager to lead our tax department, delivering high-quality tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to a diverse client base. This role involves managing client relationships, overseeing complex tax filings, and mentoring professionals while driving operational excellence and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and support tax staff to ensure timely, accurate work.
- Provide ongoing training and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.
- Manage project timelines and allocate workload efficiently.
- Review and prepare complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Develop and execute tax strategies to reduce client liabilities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Stay current on tax law changes and provide proactive guidance to clients and staff.
- Serve as a trusted tax advisor, delivering customized guidance and solutions.
- Proactively identify client needs and promote relevant firm services.
- Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Improve tax department workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate and implement tax software to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant tax laws, ethical standards, and firm policies.
- Represent clients during tax audits and work directly with tax authorities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA license or Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations.
- Strong client service orientation and problem-solving skills.
