About the Role

Leads, directs, and coordinates the work of subcontractors and/or Turner trade labor. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed, and adherence to budget of the project. This role has supervisory responsibility for Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns, and trade labor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and make decisions related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
• Oversee work among assigned trades to promote coordinated project operations and resolve local area problems regarding procedures, design clarifications, labor, and equipment schedules.
• Manage the overall site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and applicable safety codes.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and/or Interns, including performance appraisals.
• Create schedules, determine work sequencing, and develop recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers regarding field issues and investigate/resolve them.
• Manage the billing process, including Work In Place (WIP), monthly estimates, payrolls, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
• Manage work to ensure installation compliance with approved contract documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five (5) years' related experience, training, and/or experience.
• Experience using Primavera P6 for project scheduling and planning is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EH&S applications.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical demands including climbing stairs and ladders, negotiating construction areas, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in an environment exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, and electrical shock.
