About the Role
Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) is seeking Medical Assistants passionate about making a difference in the community. Medical Assistants perform clerical duties and assist in patient examinations and treatments under the direction of licensed medical or nursing professionals, directly serving patients and turning LSCC's vision into a reality. LSCC offers a friendly and fun work environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient history, communication, and clinical treatment accurately.
- Obtain and measure vital signs and document information on patients' charts.
- Maintain examination/treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
- Keep inventory of medical supplies and materials.
- Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests.
- Administer medications as ordered by licensed medical and/or nursing staff.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients under the direction of licensed medical and/or nursing staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Skills
- Certification as a Medical Assistant recognized by LSCC.
- Prior professional experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player personality.
- Time management.
