About the Role
The Campaign and Communications Coordinator will join the Health Fund Policy Team to execute the Campaign for Affordable Hospitals in New York and New Jersey. This role focuses on digital organizing, member engagement, and public-facing communications to address healthcare costs and hospital pricing, bridging the gap between policy work and public action.
Responsibilities
- Execute campaign communications strategy including social media content and website management
- Draft campaign materials such as talking points, testimony, fact sheets, and advocacy communications
- Coordinate with communications vendors, coalition partners, and community organizations
- Implement campaign plans with unions, community organizations, and employers
- Plan and execute campaign events including rallies, press conferences, and public hearings
- Manage multiple communication projects by tracking timelines and stakeholder engagement
- Monitor healthcare political and legislative landscapes to identify campaign opportunities
- Support legislative efforts and stakeholder engagement activities
- Disseminate data-driven analyses and policy perspectives to coalition partners
- Prepare members and partners for public engagement opportunities
- Synthesize policy analyses into accessible public materials for digital and traditional channels
- Assist in content development and engagement for the annual conference on hospital prices
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in public affairs, legislative, labor, or issue-based campaigns
- Demonstrated understanding of digital organizing and campaign communications
- Experience managing social media platforms and online campaign content
- Familiarity with digital advocacy platforms like Action Network, Hustle, EveryAction, or VAN
- Ability to translate complex policy issues into persuasive communications
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent project coordination and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of NY and NJ healthcare and legislative landscapes preferred
- Experience with labor-centered legislative or coalition-based initiatives preferred
