About the Role
The Senior Accountant will share responsibility for internal financial reporting, month-end close processes, commission calculations, and managing internal controls to ensure audit compliance while implementing accounting best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting support for Canada Consulting, Valuation & Advisory, and Project Management services
- Review and verify revenue recognition for service lines
- Process and review commission calculations for Valuation and Consulting practices
- Assist with month-end close processes including NetSuite G/L review and balance sheet reconciliations
- Compile financial statements and related support documentation
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy and create accruals
- Support the preparation of timely financial reports and variance analysis
- Complete bank reconciliations
- Assist with special projects as required
- Prepare schedules for external auditors and financial subject matter experts
- Assist with annual budget and forecast processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in process of gaining certification
- 5-7 years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Experience drafting and/or editing financial statements and footnotes
- High technical accounting proficiency with experience in account reconciliations and revenue recognition
