About the Role
CMR is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support its expansion across the UK. The role involves developing schedule estimates, defining the Basis of Estimate, and collaborating with cost and risk management teams. The ideal candidate will have construction industry experience and knowledge of project management and controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop schedule estimates for construction works ensuring they are robust, realistic and practicable.
- Define the Basis of Estimate for the construction schedule scope (including key assumptions and exclusions).
- Ensure close integration with both the Cost and Risk Management teams for alignment of all estimates and assumptions.
- Work with the Risk team to support the QSRA process.
- Identify and manage key internal and external interfaces including procurement, consents, and dependent projects.
- Work closely with key internal/external stakeholders ensuring buy-in to the project schedule.
- Ensure schedule estimates are validated using benchmark data and design information (BIM) where available.
Requirements
- 5+ years planning experience working on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in Primavera P6.
- Knowledge and experience in elements of construction (e.g. Civils, M&E, Utilities, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication skills, including English language and visual presentations (e.g. PowerPoint), with the ability to analyse and present information clearly and persuasively.
- Knowledge and experience working with BIM, parametric estimating and 4D planning.
- Qualified to degree level would be advantageous.
- Formal project management qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2 would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and forms of contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Membership of a professional body, APM, ICE, CIOB.
- Full right to work in the UK.
