About the Role
Teza Technologies is seeking Data Engineers to join their data team. This role is crucial for systematic trading and all business operations. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Quantitative Developers to translate business needs into technical solutions, providing insights into dataset details.
- Enhance the data warehouse by designing and integrating new sources and functionalities.
- Improve system robustness, speed, and scalability, while managing data entitlements.
- Contribute innovative data management, analytics, and technology solutions to the team and management.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for organizing, querying, and streaming large datasets.
- Develop and implement automated systems for data cleansing, anomaly detection, monitoring, and alerting.
- Provide support for the production data warehouse.
- Cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships aligned with business objectives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and Unix/Linux for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
- Strong SQL knowledge and familiarity with NoSQL databases (Postgres and MongoDB), including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles (normalization and denormalization).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative workflows (e.g., Github).
- Understanding of CI/CD best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Financial industry internships or experience are a plus.
- Experience with Java is recommended.
- Experience with on-premises data infrastructure (e.g., Hadoop).
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- Understanding of best practices for data modeling, including data normalization techniques.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
