About the Role

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is seeking an 8-month term Co-op Student to join the Distribution Asset Management team. This role offers the opportunity to gain practical work experience that complements academic studies in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support case managers in processing and reviewing electricity distribution rate applications.
  • Gather, compile, and analyze information for rate applications, identifying issues and providing recommendations.
  • Provide data insights for trending and analyzing utility-filed data, including reporting and record-keeping.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating Excel models, including formulas and macros.
  • Provide additional support to the Distribution Asset Management team as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2nd or 3rd year of a Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related program registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated coursework related to finance, economics, accounting, engineering, system planning, cost allocation, demand forecasting, and/or public policy is an asset.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and compile data, then create visualizations (e.g., graphs and charts) to explain findings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong skills in programming (Python, C++, Visual Basic) are an asset.
