About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee and execute the HR strategy for ic! berlin, reporting directly to the EMEA Head of HR. This role requires a proactive HR professional with expertise in German labor law, works council negotiations, and a hands-on approach in complex organizational environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the HR strategy and processes for the assigned area
- Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new talent
- Support managers on yearly performance management process
- Advise managers on labor law and general HR topics
- Ensure compliance with labor law and internal regulations
- Manage employee relations, including negotiations and regular interactions with the German works council
- Implement and adapt global HR policies and processes at local level
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures where missing
- Support organizational changes, workforce planning, performance and talent management
- Collaborate with the global HR COEs on compensation, recruitment and talent management topics
- Contribute to building a unified HR culture across the region
- Manage one HR administrative person
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years HR experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar HR role
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with German labor law with hands-on management of employment contracts, termination, disciplinary actions
- Direct experience of interaction with Betriebsrat (works council) and understanding of co-determination
- Experience in recruitment, headcount control, talent management process
- Understanding of compensation principles
- Experience in a multinational matrix organization
- Fluent in both German and English

Salary/Compensations
- The minimum Gross Annual Salary for this role is € 80,000
- Compensation package will reflect the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific competencies
