About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a Project Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Resilience Water team in Syracuse, NY. This role focuses on solving complex wastewater challenges and delivering innovative, sustainable treatment solutions for municipal and industrial clients. You will collaborate with experts, work on diverse projects, and contribute to environmental performance and operational efficiency improvements for wastewater treatment systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design tasks and coordinate deliverables across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Support project planning activities, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
- Prepare and oversee engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design documents.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and proposal development activities.
- Support client relationship management, proposal preparation, technical presentations, and business development activities.
- Identify opportunities for continued growth within existing and prospective client accounts.
- Expand technical expertise, develop client relationships, and build a deeper understanding of water and wastewater systems, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Strong experience in wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and system design.
- Expertise supporting municipal and/or industrial treatment facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technically complex projects while balancing client expectations, project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives.
- Proactive and collaborative professional with strong project leadership capabilities.
- Experience includes prioritizing tasks, managing client expectations, and mentoring junior staff.
- Experience with project management and design delivery.
- Experience with capital and operations and maintenance (O&M) cost estimating.
- Experience with project scheduling.
- Experience with work planning.
- Experience with technical documentation.
