About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a Staff Industrial Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Industrial Water team in Syracuse, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an engineer passionate about solving complex industrial water challenges and delivering innovative, sustainable treatment solutions for industrial clients across North America. You will collaborate with industry-leading experts, work on a diverse portfolio of industrial projects, and help shape solutions that improve environmental performance and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of industrial wastewater treatment projects from concept development through commissioning and startup.
- Apply engineering expertise to develop innovative and sustainable treatment solutions.
- Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of industrial wastewater treatment systems, including physical, chemical, biological, membrane, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes.
- Prepare engineering calculations, process analyses, technical reports, design documentation, and treatment system specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Support client engagements, site investigations, pilot studies, equipment selection, construction support, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting activities.
- Maintain compliance with Arcadis quality, safety, and technical standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering.
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.
- 7 years of industrial wastewater treatment experience is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months of hire, is preferred.
