About the Role
This role is pivotal in expanding the membership community, increasing commercial income, and delivering outstanding member engagement for a leading professional membership organisation in the engineering/infrastructure sector.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new membership opportunities through proactive business development.
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective members using CRM, LinkedIn and direct outreach.
- Arrange meetings with prospective members and senior decision-makers.
- Promote the value of membership and convert enquiries into new members.
- Develop strong relationships with existing members to maximise retention and engagement.
- Identify opportunities to increase member participation across events, committees and networking activities.
- Support the development of sponsorship, partnership and commercial opportunities.
- Assist with generating revenue through events and commercial initiatives.
- Coordinate conferences, networking events, webinars and member forums.
- Liaise with speakers, sponsors, venues and suppliers to ensure successful event delivery.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and produce reports on membership activity and pipeline performance.
Requirements
- Experience in membership growth, business development, account management, sponsorship, partnerships or stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, target-focused and commercially aware approach.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experience within a membership organisation, professional body, trade association or events environment.
