About the Role
The Corporate Trust Officer (Relationship Manager III) manages and administers client accounts, negotiates new trusteeship and agency accounts, and ensures Computershare's interests are protected from risk while providing high service levels to corporate clients, legal counsel, and investors. This role involves executing documents that commit Computershare to specific terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate the terms of trust and non-trust agreements, assess associated risks, and recommend new business acceptability and fees.
- Review and evaluate legal documentation for corporate financing and other transactions to ensure they meet administrative standards for Computershare's protection.
- Analyze and interpret agreements to establish internal file operations and provide administrative direction.
- Ensure and monitor compliance with all portfolio agreements by Computershare and clients.
- Prepare and execute correspondence to clients, their legal counsel, or investors.
- Maintain necessary knowledge and expertise in applicable areas of law, commerce, corporate finance, securities markets, and internal policies.
- Demonstrate customer orientation and ability to balance needs of clients, holders, and team members.
- Recognize issues and determine when escalation is necessary.
- Proactively support risk management in line with risk policy.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- University Degree in law, business, commerce, or finance.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an articled student or practicing lawyer, OR 3-5 years of experience in the financial, corporate/commercial, or securities industry at an intermediate or professional level.
