About the Role

Sizewell C is seeking an experienced IT Business Continuity Lead to develop, implement, and maintain robust IT business continuity, disaster recovery, and technology resilience arrangements across one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure and clean energy programmes. This is a critical leadership role supporting IT operational resilience, cyber resilience, incident response, service continuity, and recovery planning within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will work across digital, security, infrastructure, applications, operational technology interfaces, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure critical systems can be sustained or recovered through all phases of the project lifecycle. Sizewell C places strong emphasis on safety, quality, resilience, cyber preparedness, and regulatory compliance as part of its integrated approach to delivering a nationally important nuclear programme supported by dependable technology and information services.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain IT business continuity, disaster recovery, and technology resilience arrangements.
Support IT operational resilience, cyber resilience, incident response, service continuity, and recovery planning.
Work across digital, security, infrastructure, applications, operational technology interfaces, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Ensure critical systems can be sustained or recovered through all phases of the project lifecycle.
Facilitate IT recovery exercises, scenario testing, incident response activities, and post-incident lessons learned reviews.
Communicate clearly and consistently on continuity priorities, recovery status, risks, and decision points.
Promote collaboration and alignment across business continuity, cyber security, infrastructure, and service owners.
Enable clear and timely decision-making during incidents, exercises, and service recovery activities.
Drive simplification in continuity documentation, recovery processes, and governance at all levels.

Requirements

Proven experience in IT Business Continuity, IT Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, Cyber Resilience, or Technology Service Continuity roles.
Strong understanding of Business Continuity Management Systems, ISO 22301 principles, and the alignment between business continuity, disaster recovery, and information security practices.
Experience operating within regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, infrastructure, transportation, defence, or other environments where resilience of critical technology services is essential.
Demonstrated experience facilitating IT recovery exercises, scenario testing, incident response activities, and post-incident lessons learned reviews.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical teams.
Strong analytical, planning, and organisational capability, including experience with business impact analysis, dependency mapping, recovery objectives, and continuity governance.
Recognise the value brought by different technical disciplines, operational teams, partners, and delivery perspectives when building resilient services.
Be open to challenge and expert input when assessing risks, dependencies, recovery priorities, and continuity strategies.
Positively challenge weak controls, single points of failure, and gaps in recovery readiness.
Identify practical continuity and recovery solutions at the appropriate operational level while supporting enterprise-wide resilience objectives.
Encourage teams and suppliers to bring forward new ideas that improve service resilience, recovery capability, and cyber preparedness.
Value the regulatory, security, and operational environment in which critical technology and information services operate.
Give and receive feedback with respect during exercises, incidents, reviews, and recovery planning activities.
Embrace and engage with new people, technologies, and approaches that strengthen continuity and recovery outcomes.
Work closely together across business, digital, security, and suppliers to maintain critical services.

Shared responsibility for protecting, sustaining, and recovering the technology capabilities that enable project delivery.
Meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

About the Company

Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
The Company is maturing to meet all requirements for the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%.
