About the Role

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them courteously, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. Associates are expected to be engaged in assigned tasks and may perform a range of functions across the store as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Practices safe behaviors in all actions.
• Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.
• Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy.
• Assists Customers with merchandise and answers questions knowledgeably.
• Greets all Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a verbal greeting.
• Thanks every customer with every register transaction.
• Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers.
• Handles Customer issues courteously and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
• Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per company best practices.
• Understands and applies Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions.
• Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
• Follows all Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies and procedures.
• Follows all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions.
• Maintains a high level of awareness and accuracy when handling tenders.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency to perform their role efficiently.
• Maximizes productivity by executing all Store best practices and minimizing workflow steps.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
