About the Role
This role provides temporary cover for 10 months, supporting Meta's workforce across the APAC region on a broad range of employment law matters. You will offer day-to-day legal counsel on hiring practices, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, reductions in force, and employment-related disputes. The position involves partnering with People Operations, HR business partners, and business leaders to deliver practical, risk-informed guidance for responsible and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic employment law advice on all aspects of the employee life cycle to the People@ team across APAC, including human resources, recruiting, payroll, people operations, compensation and benefits, immigration, and employee relations teams.
- Partner with internal teams to build processes and playbooks for recurring employee-related matters and contribute to region-wide projects and initiatives.
- Draft and revise employment-related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment-related documents applicable to Meta's APAC employees.
- Support employment litigation as necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location.
- Must hold a current practicing certificate or the local law equivalent bar registration or license, unless prohibited under local law.
- 5+ years of labor and employment law experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both.
- Experience communicating legal advice and partnering with cross-functional teams to provide practical, scalable solutions.
- Experience influencing senior business and HR leaders through clear, practical legal guidance on high-stakes and ambiguous employment law issues.
