About the Role
This high-profile role within the Finance Consulting / CFO Solutions practice focuses on scaling the Controllership Transformation and Financial Close Automation service line. You will lead engagements to improve financial close processes, deploy automation technologies, and advise senior finance leaders on strategic finance operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end controllership transformation programmes from diagnostic to implementation.
- Oversee financial close automation workstreams including solution design, configuration, testing, and change management.
- Advise clients on close technology platform selection.
- Redesign financial close and consolidation processes such as close calendar optimisation and intercompany automation.
- Develop and implement policy and control frameworks to reduce manual effort and audit risk.
- Drive automation of journal entry, reconciliation, and variance analysis workflows.
- Translate complex finance operations and technology challenges into actionable roadmaps.
- Manage delivery across multiple concurrent engagements to meet quality, timeline, and budget commitments.
- Build and maintain a pipeline through existing relationships, referrals, and outbound activity.
- Author proposals and lead pitches to CFO and Controller-level stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with technology vendors including FloQast, OneStream, and Prophix.
- Contribute to the development of service offerings, methodologies, and thought leadership.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of Managers and Consultants.
- Represent the firm at external events and industry forums.
Requirements
- Significant experience in controllership, financial close transformation, or finance management consulting.
- Track record of leading complex programmes.
- Hands-on implementation or advisory experience with close automation or EPM platforms such as FloQast, OneStream, Prophix, or Blackline.
- Deep understanding of controllership processes including close cycles, reconciliation, consolidation, and statutory reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to design future-state close operating models.
- Experience working at senior client levels with CFOs and Financial Controllers.
- Track record of driving out controllership inefficiencies.
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ICAS.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in scoping engagements and managing budgets.
