About the Role
Provide specialized expert technical support and advice for adaptations to Community Occupational Therapy clients. Ensure all adaptation works comply with relevant planning and building regulations, carry out statutory processes for Council-owned properties, and ensure all works are completed to a satisfactory standard.
Responsibilities
- Inspect Council dwellings to advise on adaptation methods.
- Provide technical advice to the Community Occupational Therapy team to support tenants with disabilities.
- Deal sensitively with clients, considering cultural and religious needs when recommending construction solutions.
- Carry out site surveys.
- Prepare sketch schemes and scaled working drawings.
- Submit documentation for planning and building regulation approvals.
- Prepare specifications and schedules of work.
- Manage tender procedures.
- Obtain competitive estimates.
- Recommend suitable contractors.
